responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers, ensuring that they are motivated, engaged, and working effectively.
- Develop and implement hardware development strategies that align with business objectives.
- Lead all aspects of the design, development, and testing of hardware products.
- Ensure that all hardware designs meet industry standards, including safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver hardware products on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure that issues are identified and resolved in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide regular updates on project progress to senior management, highlighting any issues or risks that may impact the delivery of the project.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in device development.
- A strong technical background in hardware, with a proven track record in a management role at medium to large companies
- Proven record of building and leading engaged engineering teams with a culture of feedback, open communication, and team orientation.
- Ability to manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
- Social skills, to establish good rapport, generate enthusiasm & negotiate priorities
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations including experience with global compliance standards (CE, FCC, RoHS) and safety requirements such as IEC 61010 for electrical equipment in measurement and laboratory use.
- Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in forming relationships, great teammate, dynamic, creative with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead the team through design and manufacturing obstacles.
- Demonstrates a sense of humor, tact, and flexibility in changing situations.
