  • Salary Ranges :

Bachelor's Level = $24.04 - $28.85 per hour

  • Master's Level Unlicensed = $27.89 - $33.47 per hour
  • Master's Level Licensed = $31.75 - 38.09 per hour
  • All levels based on relevant years of experience
  • Location : Fort Collins, Colorado at our Longview campus
  • Status : Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Hours : Sunday 10 : 00AM-8 : 30PM, Monday / Tuesday 10 : 00AM-10 : 30PM, Wednesday 10 : 00AM-4 : 30PM
  • Employees working at locations operating 24 / 7 earn a differential.  Shift differentials are also available for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

    Role Overview :

    As a Behavioral Health Counselor, within the Mobile Crisis team, participate as a member of the service delivery team to provide risk assessments, crisis interventions, safety planning, coordination of care including discharge planning, brief interventions, group work and potential placement for clients. These services are provided to individuals who are in a behavioral health crisis or in need of longer-term respite care and whose needs cannot be accommodated safely in the community or in a less restrictive environment. This position will cross trains to cover multiple sites including covering shifts at Garcia House, Behavioral Health Urgent Care, Mobile Response Services, and our Crisis Stabilization Unit.

    Essential Duties :

  • Providing on-going crisis assessments, crisis intervention techniques, conduct de-escalation, safety planning, and maintain clinical records and other reporting data for clients with mild to severe mental health and / or substance use disorders.
  • Observe clients in a variety of situations; assess mental status of client and formulate treatment plans and goals. Perform case management services as needed to assist clients to meet their goals as stated in their service / treatment plans. Refer clients to supportive services such as vocational, medical, social security, housing authority, etc.
  • Conduct crisis intervention via telephone and / or face-to-face. Intervene and de-escalate crisis situations with clients. Assess the risk of harm to self or others, create comprehensive safety plans, and arrange needed resources
  • Assist clients in improving their well-being and quality of life by training in behavioral skills; educating clients to make informed choices; developing clients coping skills, helping clients to problem solve, and negotiating tasks of daily living.
  • Document treatment plans, progress reports, group notes, individual notes, case management notes, letters, faxes and phone calls. Follow the proper protocol for documentation as set forth by Quality Assurance and to third party payor’s requirements that have contracts with SummitStone.
  • Maintain close and cooperative relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment / recovery / service plans.
  • Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Human Services field from an accredited College or University required
  • More than two years of experience in the mental health field and program application required
  • Bilingual required
  • Highly Desired :

  • Master's degree in the Human Services field from an accredited College or University preferred
  • Experience in coordinating mental health intervention plans and services with other agencies preferred
  • Additional Requirement – Longview Campus

    This position is subject to a mandatory background check through the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) TRAILS database, which reviews for any substantiated cases of child abuse or neglect.

    This requirement applies to all staff working at our Longview campus, regardless of direct contact with adolescents, due to the fact that the facility provides adolescent treatment services. As such, completion of this background check is required for employment at this location.

    There are opportunities within our team-based model to attend company-sponsored training programs, complete certifications (such as CAT or CAS) and to learn from seasoned colleagues daily. SummitStone provides clinical supervision toward licensure at no cost to the employee and reimburses any fees required for licensure.
