Director of Nursing – The Estates at Chateau (Minneapolis, MN)

We are seeking a  Director of Nursing (DON)  to lead our nursing team and drive excellence in resident care, compliance, and staff development. This leadership role is accountable for nursing services, administrative oversight, and fostering a culture of compassion, quality, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Care Coordination & Oversight

Manage RAI process, MDS coordination, and care planning.

Oversee nursing staff to ensure accurate, high-quality care.

Maintain up-to-date nursing procedures and support physician visits.

Regulatory Compliance & Standards of Care

Ensure compliance with state / federal regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.

Uphold resident rights, promote medication safety, and lead quality improvement initiatives.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Coordinate care planning across departments and external providers.

Partner with social services and administration on admissions, discharges, and referrals.

Staffing & Efficiency

Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental meetings.

Ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness in alignment with facility goals.

Supply & Equipment Oversight

Oversee ordering, receiving, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Collaborate with Maintenance Director and Administrator on repairs and large purchases.

Culture, Compliance & Education

Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture with strong customer service.

Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and staff education on current policies and best practices.

Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of Minnesota (or ability to obtain).

Proven leadership experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting.

Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and nursing best practices.

Experience with mental health and / or substance use disorder populations preferred.

Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills.
