Location : Odessa, TX 79761 (West Texas healthcare jobs)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 16, 2025

End Date : March 17, 2026

Shift : Day shift, Friday-Sunday, 3x12-hour shifts (06 : 30 - 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Setting : Main Operating Room, Level II Trauma Center

Orientation : 3-4 days

COVID-19 Vaccine : Not required

Flu Vaccine : Required (medical / religious exemptions allowed)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1860-$2000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (2-3 years preferred)

Travel nursing experience required

Experience in community hospital and Level II Trauma Center required

Experience with Cerner charting system preferred

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS (all required for OR RN jobs)

Robotic XI, orthopedic, spine / neuro, general / gyn, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma experience preferred

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Ability to provide care for all age groups : neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics

Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted (travel nurse position)

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients

Assist with a wide variety of surgical procedures : robotic, orthopedic, spine / neuro, general, gynecological, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma cases

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner electronic health records

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education to stay current with best practices in operating room nursing

Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols

Promote a positive, efficient, and supportive operating room environment
