Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager

The County of Hawai`i is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager for immediate vacancy in Hilo, HI. The salary range is $89,400.00 - $164,664.00 annually. This is a permanent position within the Department of Environmental Management - Wastewater Division.

The duties include directing and coordinating all activities relating to the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating the installation, operation, maintenance, overhaul, repair, and testing of wastewater treatment and disposal facilities and systems. The position also involves consulting with contractors and engineers, recommending additions and modifications, developing and implementing new methods and procedures, and enforcing safety and environmental policies.

Minimum qualification requirements include a bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, marine, sanitary, or chemical engineering, five years of responsible supervisory experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, possession of a Certificate of Registration as a professional civil, chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineer in the United States, and a valid State of Hawai`i Driver License (Class 3).
