Job description

Electronic Test Operator / Test Assembler

Professional Search Group OC is partnering with a client to source an experienced Electronic Test Operator / Test Assembler to join their engineering production team. This hands-on role requires experience with circuit testing, soldering, and troubleshooting in a low-volume RF production environment.

Base pay range

$30.00 / hr - $33.00 / hr

Responsibilities :

  • Perform DC and RF circuit card tests and assemblies per schematic drawings.
  • Set up and change out test fixtures for various test operations.
  • Input test and assembly data into a PC.
  • Conduct troubleshooting on RF and DC test fixtures as needed.
  • Solder 0402 SMT chip components and other small electronic parts.
  • Work independently, following established assembly and test procedures.

Required Skills :

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Experience handling Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) in an ESD-safe environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, AC / DC test instructions, and electronic schematics.
  • Proficient with test equipment : DMM, watt meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and vector network analyzer.
  • Skilled in RF test fixture setup (cable and wire connections).
  • Strong visual inspection ability for SMT components, cable, and wire connections.
  • Troubleshooting skills down to the component level.
  • Ability to solder 0402 SMT components.
  • J-STD-001 or IPC 610 soldering certification (current or past).
  • 3+ years of electrical testing experience in a low-volume RF production environment.

    • Desirable Skills (Preferred but Not Required) :

  • A.S. degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with electronic and / or cable assembly.

    • Training will be provided if necessary, but candidates with IPC certification and strong RF testing experience will be highly valued.
