Power Generation - Instrument Technician II / III (Richmond, VA or Chesapeake, VA)
Dominion Energy's Elizabeth River CT in Chesapeake, VA and Darbytown CT in Richmond, VA seek two highly motivated Instrument Technicians II or III. There are two positions available, and each will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Under general supervision, the technician performs a wide range of tasks including inspection, testing, servicing, repair, calibration, and installation of various control instruments such as flow meters, pressure transmitters and gauges, thermometers, and regulators. The role involves identifying causes of instrument malfunctions, reporting findings, and replacing components as needed. Technicians use portable pressure gauges, manometers, and similar test equipment, perform preventive maintenance, test flue gas, read meters, and record data. They also tune single loop controls and maintain instrumentation drawings.
At the higher level, technicians work on more complex systems and equipment, perform engineering functions for control loop modifications, and maintain configuration documentation. They may lead control system upgrade projects and provide training and guidance to less experienced technicians.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Instrument Technician II : 3 years of related experience in instrumentation and control
Instrument Technician III : 5 years of related experience in instrumentation and control
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Both Levels :
Preferences : Fossil power station instrumentation and controls experience; Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS); Start-up / operational support experience for fossil power plants; Experience with General Electric MARK 6e; Experience with Computers including software installations and patch management functions; Control system upgrade experience; PLC experience (to include ladder logic programming); Must have availability and flexibility to work OT as needed, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education :
