Job Type : Part time

Exempt / Non Exempt : Hourly

Responsibilities

  • This is a part-time role for our overnight shift (11pm-7am). Potential to work every other weekend and some holidays.
  • Coordinate Control Center operations including CCTV system, security alarm system, radio dispatch, access control system, closed circuit television system, alarm monitoring systems and security information management system.
  • Operate and monitor the system, fire alarm system, card access system, public address system, and telephones. Make public address broadcasts as required.
  • Administer card access, CCTV, branch alarm systems and other related systems, including programming, troubleshooting and coordinating system repairs, upgrades, and expansions.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair of security equipment and systems. Ensure training and certification of Control Center operators.
  • Handle daily Control Center operator functions and clerical duties as assigned by security management staff. Monitor radio transmissions and control radio traffic and broadcast discipline.
  • Receive and process all incoming calls regarding routine security and safety matters. Dispatch security personnel to scenes of incidents via radio / telephone communications.
  • Perform data entry and administration of the security information management system. Maintain activity, report, and dispatch logs and records. Keep security reports and investigations confidential.
  • Provide clerical support and other duties as assigned by Security Management staff.

    • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

    Education : Include minimum education and any licensing / certifications.

    Experience : Extensive experience as a Police, Fire, Security / Police Department Dispatcher or Control Center Operator.

    Knowledge and Skills : Demonstrated knowledge and ability to include :

  • Extensive operational knowledge of access control systems, video identification badge systems, fire and burglar alarm systems and closed circuit television system.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including report writing and telephone skills.
  • Evaluating situations and making sound decisions based on all available information.
  • Responding quickly and effectively under stressful and very intense situations, including prioritizing service needs under time constraints.
  • Maintaining composure during stressful situations.
  • Advanced operational knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
  • Advanced operational knowledge of IRIMS (security information management software) and related databases.
  • Operating firefighting equipment, fire alarm monitoring systems, first aid equipment, computers, and other security equipment.
  • Interacting well with the public and other departments; strong customer service skills.
  • Physical activities required to perform duties (walking, standing, sitting, hearing, lifting, carrying, climbing, reaching, seeing, speaking, writing).
  • Ability to observe, identify, remember, understand, and problem solve.
  • May be required to work various shifts as required by Security Services Management.

    • Preferred Qualifications

    Associates degree in Law Enforcement or a related field.

    Work Environment

    Works indoors in a corporate office environment. May be required to work outside in various weather conditions.
