Wilkes University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor, pending available funding, to begin in Fall 2026. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematical sciences by August of 2026. Applicants in all fields of mathematics are encouraged to apply, especially those with expertise in modern algebra and number theory. The department seeks well-qualified candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
The successful candidates should be active in scholarship with a willingness to mentor undergraduate student research while contributing to the institution through departmental and university service. In addition, the candidates must have strong interest in developing curricular connections across disciplines and be able to support students with diverse backgrounds such as first-generation and international students. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience with an expected teaching load of twenty-one credit hours per year.
