Responsibilities Position is in the hospital operating room (OR) environment Requires ability to scrub as part of the surgical team Assignment consists of three 12-hour varied shifts per week Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required Patient population includes a variety of surgical cases, with ortho, EENT, and vascular experience considered a plus Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required and can be trained on site Responsible for direct patient care and nursing process in the OR, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel Must demonstrate flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Must pass facility-specific orientation and competency testing per unit standards Must wait one year after working as a permanent staff member at this health system before being considered as a traveler Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered Requirements Active NM or compact RN license required BLS certification required; must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross Minimum two years of current large OR experience required Previous charge nurse experience in OR is required Must be able to scrub in the operating room Completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment required Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required PALS and ACLS certifications are preferred but not required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613967.
