Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialized teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year, focused on serving students with unique learning needs in an elementary school setting. This contract position, located in Bangor, ME, runs from August 25, 2025, to June 10, 2026, and operates during standard school hours from 8 : 15 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m.

The role involves providing prehensive Special Education instruction to a caseload of 12 students in grades K-5, specifically in Life Skills and Severely or Multiple Disabilities (cognitive) areas. You will be supported by a dedicated team of 7 educational technicians (paras) within the classroom, enhancing the delivery of individualized learning plans and fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Key qualifications for this position include :

• Valid Maine Special Education certification (certificate 282) or a reciprocal out-of-state equivalent.
• Experience working with students who have life skills and cognitive disabilities.
• Ability to plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities to meet diverse student needs.
• Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with educational technicians and school staff.
