The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow for Dr. Helena Reijonen's laboratory within the Department of Immunology and Theranostics at the Art Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute.
Dr. Reijonen's research focuses on characterizing autoimmune-mediated Type 1 Diabetes. The lab aims to identify autoreactive T lymphocytes in the blood of individuals with T1D, understand their activation and regulation, and discover novel signatures and pathways of autoimmunity. The lab also investigates extracellular vesicles as communication means between immune cells and pancreatic islets, with the goal of improving disease prediction, monitoring, and therapy evaluation.
