Our client is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities :
- Contact patients to collect outstanding balances and establish payment plans.
- Review accounts for follow-up actions or refer them to external collections as needed.
- Conduct insurance follow-up related to underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
- Negotiate payments with out of network commercial insurance carriers.
- Manually calculate fees, adjustments, and balances when required.
- Process patient and insurance refunds within established timelines.
- Investigate and follow up on patient correspondence and returned mail.
- Accurately post payments from patients, insurance companies, and third parties.
- Scan and file relevant documentation in a timely manner.
