The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This position involves assisting with classroom activities, maintaining a clean and organized space, supporting children’s social and emotional development, and communicating effectively with staff and families.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom routines.

Supervise and engage with children during activities, meals, and outdoor play.

Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.

Support children in developing independence, problem-solving, and positive social skills.

Follow all school policies regarding health, safety, and child supervision.

Communicate positively and professionally with parents, children, and staff.

Observe and document children’s behavior and progress as requested by the Lead Teacher.

Assist with setup and cleanup of classroom materials and activities.

Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
