Duties
Duties include :
- Providing protection for various protectees.
- Conducting criminal investigations pertaining to financial obligations of the United States.
- Planning and implementing security designs for National Special Security Events.
Requirements
To be considered, you must :
Be a U.S. citizen.Possess a current valid driver's license.Carry and use a firearm, and maintain firearm proficiency.Be at least 21 years old and less than 37 years old at the time of application, unless you have previous service in a Federal Civilian Law Enforcement position.Obtain a Top Secret Clearance and retain it during your career.Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20 / 100 binocular, and corrected visual acuity of 20 / 20 or better in each eye.Pass a hearing test, with hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in either ear.Submit to a drug test prior to appointment and random drug testing while occupying the position.Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center.Sign a mobility agreement stating your willingness to accept assignments anywhere within the United States and overseas.Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.The U.S. Secret Service is an equal opportunity employer.
