IT Consultant (K–12) – Dedicated IT Specialist (Remote, Part-Time)

About the Role

Dhaka Tech seeks a visionary, hands-on IT consultant to serve as the Dedicated IT Specialist for a K–12 regional education agency. You’ll own the technology plan, manage cloud / on-prem services, strengthen cybersecurity and compliance, and coordinate vendors—while supporting a modern, hybrid learning environment.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership

Build and execute a ROE-wide technology plan aligned to instructional and operational goals.

Advise leaders on edtech adoption, digital equity, and hybrid learning best practices.

Infrastructure & Systems

Administer Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for Education ; identity, email, device, and data governance.

Oversee SIS / LMS / ERP environments (coordination with district / ROE teams and vendors).

Ensure reliable access for sites, virtual classrooms, and remote learners; schedule maintenance windows (after-hours as needed).

Cybersecurity & Compliance

Implement security controls and conduct periodic audits; maintain incident response playbooks.

Ensure compliance with FERPA, COPPA, CIPA, and Illinois SOPPA (if applicable); staff awareness / training.

Support, Vendors & Assets

Lead remote IT support cadence for staff / students (prioritized backlog, SLAs).

Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and purchasing; track devices and software licenses.

Coordinate with any contracted consultants; measure performance against scope, timeline, and budget

Requirements

Bachelor’s in IT / CS / IS / Business (Master’s a plus).

5+ years progressive experience in K–12 technology leadership or engineering .

Hands-on with M365 Admin / Intune (Endpoint Manager) and Google Admin / Chromebooks .

Familiar with SIS (e.g., PowerSchool / Infinite Campus / Skyward), LMS (Canvas / Schoology / Google Classroom), ERP , and identity / access foundations.

Security / compliance chops across FERPA / COPPA / CIPA / SOPPA ; policy, training, and audit readiness.

Strong vendor management, communication, and project management skills; comfortable leading remotely and after-hours cutovers when needed.

Nice to Have : CETL, PMP, CISSP, Microsoft / Azure, Google for Education, ITIL; e-rate / budgeting experience; scripting / automation (PowerShell, Google Apps Script).
