Quality Control Advisor - Stockton, CA

The Quality Control Advisor partners with and supports the C&S QC team, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that Save Mart's established quality standards are met during the receiving and distribution process of perishable products. While unable to directly perform hands-on inspections due to union roles, the advisor provides expertise and guidance on quality control standards and processes, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in product handling. This position plays a key role in advising and collaborating with the Procurement, Warehouse, and Inventory Control teams to ensure merchandise meets all safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with distribution center workers and other stakeholders, providing expert advice on quality, temperature controls, specifications, and freshness of perishable commodities during receipt and shipment.
• Review and evaluate reports and inspection data, advising teams on how to ensure compliance with Save Mart's quality and safety standards, as well as USDA and other regulatory requirements.
• Partner with the Procurement Team to provide insights into product quality, product age, inventory status, and necessary rejections, ensuring timely feedback and decision-making.
• Advise on maintaining food safety protocols, including compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and ensure that all inventory handling meets company and regulatory standards.
• Provide ongoing training and recommendations to team members to optimize quality control processes. Suggest improvements based on industry trends and regulatory updates.
• Assist in additional duties and responsibilities as required by the Quality Control management team.

Job Requirements

Preferred Experience working in environments that require collaboration with unionized staff

Experience 5 years related experience 2 years in quality control, warehouse, or inventory management

Education / Licenses / Certifications Required 4-Year / Bachelor's Degree and / or equivalent experience / training
