Job Description

Join Our Creative Team at Alfred State College. The Digital Media & Animation Department seeks talented and passionate faculty to teach in our Digital Media & Animation and Graphic & Media Design AS and BS programs. This is a temporary faculty position with the opportunity to contribute to the program and shape future creatives.

Teaching opportunities include :

  • Digital Foundations I & II
  • Production I & II
  • Motion Graphics and Advanced Motion Graphics
  • Senior project advising
  • Special topics courses in areas of personal or professional expertise

Additional responsibilities include curriculum development, student advising, and active participation in college service. The department is growing and evolving to equip students with cutting-edge skills for today’s digital media, graphic design, and game development industries. Faculty can teach the latest software, tools, and production techniques in a collaborative environment.

The Department of Digital Media & Animation serves approximately 200 students across programs in Digital Media & Animation, Graphic & Media Design, and Game & Interactive Design. Join a dynamic team dedicated to creativity, technology, and student success!

Requirements

Required qualifications :

  • Masters degree in a relevant field
  • Proficiency with relevant software, including the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Dedication to teaching and to exploring emerging technologies

    • Preferred qualifications :

  • Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in a relevant field, or ABD with completion date before August 2023. Candidates with a relevant MS or MA degree may be considered. College-level teaching experience beyond TA
  • Professional experience in related fields
  • Ability to teach in other relevant areas, including 3D Modeling and animation, graphic design, video production, and digital foundations

    Salary : The salary for this temporary position is $25,027 and is commensurate with education and qualifications. Benefits include extensive healthcare and retirement options, supporting work-life balance.
