EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Full and Part-Time Patrol Officers

Mason City Police Department is currently accepting applications for Full and Part-Time Patrol Officers. $5,000.00 sign-on bonus for Full-Time Employees who qualify.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATION :

  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Part-time or Full-time Police Officer Certification preferred
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain prior to employment, a valid Illinois Driver’s License and have a satisfactory driving record
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain prior to employment, a valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) Card
  • Cannot ever have been convicted of any felony offense
  • Cannot ever have been convicted of any misdemeanor offense involving domestic battery
  • Must be a High School graduate or equivalent

ALL QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO :

  • Pass an oral interview
  • Pass an extensive background investigation
  • Provide proof of highest level of education obtained
  • Provide proof of military service
  • Provide any supporting documentation of ILETSB certified training

    • STARTING PAY :

  • Base pay $25.00 per hour, increases set by collective bargaining agreement
  • Holiday pay rates, overtime, and other bonus rates apply

  • IMRF retirement fpr Full-Time only
  • Health, Dental, and Vision paid by employer for Full-time employees only
  • Vacation, Personal / Sick time allowances
