Your Role :

This position is primarily responsible for performance of duties within the functional area of molecular engineering of gene vectors and immune or stem cells.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for the analysis of lentiviral vector function using standard assays, monitoring the impact of cell engineering with LV that leads to new functional activities of those cells, understanding the impact of LV transduction on the biology of immune effector cells, stem cells, and immortalized cell lines.
• Responsible for culture and analysis of primary human T cell lines, immortalized cell lines, cryopreservation of these lines, and documentation of cell line identity.
• Perform analytical assays such as, qPCR, SDS-page, Western Blot, protein and DNA quantitation, Flow Cytometry / FACS.
• Assist with the generation of LV laboratory stocks for specific cell biology projects.
• Design of specific experiments to test LV function, appropriate statistical analysis of results, ability to communicate results internally, for publication, and in scientific meetings.
• The ability to generate LV-based gene vectors as both laboratory stocks for specific research projects and in collaboration with other members of the organization desiring to implement their use.
• Ability to design and execute animal experiments to test immune effector cell function, or the function of modified stem cells, in model systems of human disease.
• Design and develop new processes and protocols, as needed.
• Maintain inventory and restock supplies when needed. Complete Purchase Order Requests.
• Responsible for cleaning of equipment and work areas as required.

Work Environment :

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a sanitized laboratory setting and routinely uses standard medical and research equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, incubators, pipettes and computers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $107,800-$117,300 / year, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.

All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions may also be eligible for additional compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
