CRJS is a part of the
largest network of high schools in the US exclusively serving low-income youth, as well as a proud member of the Jesuit Schools Network.
Position: Dean of Students, 12 month position
Salary: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL DUTIES Responsible for building the culture and systems to support a positive learning and teaching environment for the entire community. This includes working with students, teachers, school leadership, and families.
- Create and manage systems related to student data and records for attendance, tardiness, health and discipline. Participate in leadership meetings to identify areas of need and create connected action plans.
- Assist the Principal in the promotion of a culture of learning and promotion of CRJS Graduate at Graduation values
- Collaborate with Counseling, grade level teams, and Principal to build out systems and supports for student success through creation and collaboration of MTSS.
- Observe, support, and coach teachers in building positive classroom environments.
- Co-led new teacher onboarding
- Manage afterschool activities and supervision.
- Support Montserrat Summer Bridge program for incoming students
- Support and participate in Student Life activities to build relationships and culture within the community
- Serve as member of Building Response Team – supporting with school Crisis Plan and conduct ongoing safety training/drills. Serve as school liaison to the surrounding community, as well as other area schools, about off-campus student safety, behavior, and other student life issues.
- Administer and enforce the rules and regulations promulgated in the Student Handbook; Assist the Principal with annual review and revisions of the Student Handbook. Train all students and faculty/staff in the handbook
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the principal.
WHO YOU ARE - Bachelor’s Degree required. At least three years of instructional experience in classrooms with students from marginalized populations
- Knowledge and understanding of the communities served by CRJS. Ability to serve economically disadvantaged, racially diverse students and their families with patience and humility.
- Excellent verbal and written communicator and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial school environment.
- Highly collaborative, dynamic leader with the ability to manage professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- High ethical standards with personal integrity and the ability to convey a positive public image, acting in the best interests of the school.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead and work collegially with faculty and staff.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage CRJS staff, students, and volunteers effectively.
- A deep belief that all students deserve excellent access to high-quality education and work experience.
