Job Description Summary

The Center for L.I.F.E. (Leading the Integration of Faith & Entrepreneurship), in the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University invites applications for the Assistant Director, Center for L.I.F.E. The Assistant Director, Center for L.I.F.E will have a range of responsibilities related to advancing the co-curricular, teaching, research, and service activities in the Center for L.I.F.E. in the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship.

Job Description

The Center for L.I.F.E. is focused on creating academically rigorous, practical relevant knowledge and experiences at the intersection of faith and entrepreneurship.

The Center for L.I.F.E. was the winner of the 2025 USASBE Emerging Model Program; winner of the USASBE Model Program Award in 2024 as the top entrepreneurship program in the world; and ranked among the Top 10 public schools for undergraduate entrepreneurship studies for sixteen consecutive years in The Princeton Review® and Entrepreneur Magazine annual ranking of the Top 50 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs in the world. Combines strong academic scholarship and rigorous theoretical and empirical research with immersive, practice-based learning opportunities for students. Winner of the NASDAQ Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence Award in 2020 given annually by NASDAQ and the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) to the top entrepreneurship institute in the world, the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship supports co-curricular programs in startup and venture capital, social entrepreneurship and impact investing, corporate innovation, and creativity.

The Assistant Director, Center for L.I.F.E. will have the following duties and responsibilities :

• Developing and / or supporting the development of new curricular and co-curricular programs in faith and entrepreneurship.
• Supporting the development of entrepreneurship seminars and / or classroom projects.
• Cultivating and / or supporting the cultivation of guest speakers and host company organizations for classes and class projects.
• Overseeing and / or supporting the planning, organization, and execution of the L.I.F.E. programs, including the LIFE Research Conference, the LIFE Teaching Conference, the LIFE PhD seminar, among others.
• Assisting with engagement activities and events for Miami University alumni-founders, alumni-funders, and other professionals from the faith and entrepreneurship ecosystem, among others.
• Assisting with communications to external stakeholders, including Miami alumni, startup and business professionals from the faith and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and faculty and administrators from other colleges and universities, among others.
• Assisting with completion of rankings surveys and collection of success measurements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Required : Bachelor's degree; understanding of entrepreneurship (as demonstrated by coursework or professional experience working in an entrepreneurial environment).

Consideration may be given to candidates with a M.B.A. or advanced degree in related field; at least 3 years of experience in business or related field; experience in higher education; experience in faith and entrepreneurship; with external corporate relations and / or executive level outreach and cultivation activities; experience with fundraising for universities and / or collegiate centers or institutes, non-profits and / or social enterprises; and experience developing and promoting new programs or events; understanding of executive level outreach and cultivation activities; excellent written and oral presentation skills; willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends; ability to adapt within an entrepreneurial start-up environment; and willingness to travel.
