Job Description

This position is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities; assisting in the delivery of personalized, professional and quality patient care, and providing internal and external customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Performance of all Ultrasound examinations.
  • Transportation of patients to and from Imaging Services.
  • Preparation of all departmental paperwork and answering department's telephone.
  • Scheduling patients and managing appointments.
  • Entering and retrieving patient information from the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • ARDMS OB / GYN, BLS, NT - Required at time of submission.
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
  • 2 years of experience in OB ultrasound.
  • 1 year of MFM Ultrasound experience.
  • Nuchal translucency certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of all ultrasound equipment and its function.
  • Ability to recognize fetal malformations.
