Job SummaryThe Technical Solution Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the overall technical architecture for iBase-t’s Solumina solution to ensure interoperability, scalability, and delivery success. Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, this U.S.-based role serves as the technical and enterprise architecture authority for Solumina solution deployments, ensuring alignment with iBase-t’s platform standards as well as customer’s enterprise IT and system integration strategies.
As a trusted technical advisor and consulting Integration Architect , this position bridges the gap between business needs and technical realization — creating enterprise-ready integration solutions that align with infrastructure, security, and technology directives.
A key focus of this role will be Solumina integration with enterprise systems such as SAP and PLM platforms . This position requires deep SAP expertise, extensive knowledge of integration pattern, and hands-on experience architecting and governing enterprise integrations. experience as an SAP SME and proven expertise in SAP integration, interoperability, and enterprise systems architecture.
Essential Functions Solution & Enterprise Architecture
Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture for Solumina implementations, ensuring alignment with customer enterprise standards, infrastructure, and IT governance.
Evaluate and ensure that Solumina deployments comply with customer security frameworks, infrastructure architectures, and data management policies.
Collaborate with customer Enterprise Architects and IT stakeholders to align Solumina’s architecture approach with their technology roadmap and infrastructure strategy (on-premise, hybrid, or cloud).
Create architecture blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration frameworks to ensure Solumina aligns with the broader enterprise technology ecosystem.
Establish and maintain architectural governance for all Solumina solution components and integrations throughout the project lifecycle.
Integration Leadership (SAP and PLM Systems)
Serve as the SAP Subject Matter Expert (SME) within Technical Services, leading the architecture and design of Solumina’s integration with SAP ERP (R / 3 and S / 4HANA) and PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, ENOVIA, etc.).
Define interface specifications, data mapping, and integration methodologies leveraging technologies such as IDoc, BAPI, ABAP, RFC, ALE, and middleware like SAP PI / PO or CPI.
Work closely with customer and partner SAP teams to design secure, efficient, and maintainable integrations that align with enterprise business processes.
Lead integration architecture and implementation for MBE (Model-Based Enterprise) initiative.
Develop reusable frameworks and reference architectures for SAP and PLM integration that promote efficiency and repeatability across projects.
Enterprise IT Alignment & Security
Ensure that Solumina technical architectures adhere to customer enterprise IT requirements, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity management, and data governance .
Align deployment models and integration with IT policies for access control, encryption, data residency, and network segmentation.
Collaborate with customer information security teams to ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and customer-specific guidelines.
Support internal initiatives for developing secure, scalable, and cloud-ready reference architectures.
Technical Governance & Delivery Enablement
Establish technical standards and best practices and integration patterns for use across Solumina projects.
Review and validate project-level integration and technical designs for effective and sustainable implementation.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Technical Leads, and Integration Engineers on integration design and troubleshooting.
Contribute to SOW estimation and scoping by identifying technical complexity, integration effort, and architectural constraints.
Consultative Engagement & Communication
Act as the technical liaison and trusted advisor to customer IT and enterprise architecture teams for integration strategy and technical decision-making.
Present solution architecture, integration strategies, and design recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders.
Lead technical workshops, integration planning sessions and architecture reviews.
Support pre-sales by presenting Solumina integration capabilities, discussing integration solution approaches and technical value of the Solumina platform with prospective customers.
Support proposal activities by defining the integration model, architecture approach, and assist with estimation and SOW preparation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Management and R&D to provide integration and architecture-related feedback for Solumina product roadmap.
Collaborate with Business Consulting, PMO, and Customer Success to ensure that solution designs align with business requirements and project goals.
Contribute to internal enablement efforts, ensuring consistent architectural practices across the Technical Services organization.
Qualifications Technical Expertise
Deep expertise in SAP integration , including IDoc, BAPI, ABAP, RFC, ALE, and SAP PI / PO or CPI.
Strong understanding of SAP functional modules (MM, PP, QM, PM) relevant to manufacturing and MES integrations.
Proven experience in MES–ERP and MES–PLM integration architecture , preferably with Solumina or similar enterprise MES solutions.
Strong technical skills in Java / J2EE, Web Services, REST APIs, JSON / XML , and middleware technologies.
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar), cloud infrastructure (Azure / AWS) , and information security principles .
Familiarity with data modeling, performance tuning, and scalable architecture design.

Proven experience engaging with customer IT leadership and enterprise architecture teams.
Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Experience
10–12 years in software architecture or enterprise system integration roles.
5 years specializing in SAP integration or SAP architecture.
Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
Prior consulting experience with enterprise software implementations strongly desired.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).
SAP certification (Integration, ABAP, or S / 4HANA Architecture) is a plus.
TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification a strong plus.
