Forklift Operator
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in a food production facility. The ideal candidate will operate an electrically powered lift truck safely and efficiently, handling various products and materials within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and railcars with finished and bulk products.
- Store items according to the facility's inventory system.
- Put finished products away in the distribution building from production lines.
- Pick and stage orders accurately for shipment.
- Stack and retrieve bulk products as needed.
- Use Turn-a-Fork and slip sheet attachments to improve efficiency.
- Safely operate manual and automatic dock plates.
- Use the glad-hand lock system on all trailer braking systems and chock trailers as necessary.
- Follow all facility GMP and safe food handling directives.
- Collaborate with other lift truck operators and supervisors for optimal product movement.
- Assist the Distribution Group Leader with loading outbound shipments.
- Use RF scanning units for product movement tracking.
- Change lift truck batteries safely and efficiently.
- Help produce the highest quality finished products.
- Report any food safety, health and safety, or quality issues and initiate necessary actions.
- Perform all duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
Experience operating a forklift.Experience with order selection and picking.Ability to lift 50lbs comfortably.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior production experience.Experience with inventory management, material handling, loading, picking, and packaging.Familiarity with pallet jacks, sit down forklifts, cherry pickers, and stand up forklifts.Experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse inventory management, and general labor.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50 / hr.
