Admissions Coordinator
Helen M. Simpson Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical and Pinnacle Health, is seeking an Admissions Coordinator for a full-time, on-site position. The ideal candidate will work from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4 : 30pm. The role offers up to $300 in monthly bonus incentives, customizable health insurance packages, and an extensive onboarding and training program. Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care to individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. As the Admissions Coordinator, you will be one of the first faces our patients see when coming to our rehab hospital. You will be a key member of our admissions / business development team, ensuring everything moves smoothly within the department.

Responsibilities include managing the referral intake and admission of all patients, staying in close communication with all departments to prepare for the day of admission, overseeing the pull-through process for the hospital under the direction of the Director of Business Development, ensuring that all deficiencies remain at 0%, working with the Business Development Director, CEO, and other leaders to ensure timely admissions from the time of referral, working with the team to resolve occasional challenges and overcome obstacles, providing appropriate documents to the Case Management team timely, entering patient data in HMS / MedHost when pre-admitting, completing admissions paperwork and reviewing all patient forms / demographics, leading the morning meeting with census, budgeted numbers, etc., communicating admissions time, bed number, physician, etc., to the hospital when there is a confirmed admission, providing tours of the hospital, providing customer service by accurately answering questions for internal and external customers, managing LOA's in HMS / MedHost, ensuring accurate entries for all LOA patients, reviewing and entering daily census via Select Portal by 11am EST, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of two years' experience performing a broad range of duties with an Admissions or Pre-Admissions Department, knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of insurance verification, experience working with Excel and databases, and previous experience within a physical rehabilitation setting.
