Job description

FL-DOT-Brooksville Operations-Maintenance Worker -

Performs miscellaneous independent manual labor incidental to job assignments with a basic level of complexity with direct supervision.

FL-DOT-Brooksville Operations Center-Maintenance Repair Worker - MUST HAVE A VALID DL AND DEPENDABLE TRANSPORTATION.

Position : Pay Rate $$.$$ $$.$$ : $$.$$hr / Vendor Rate $$.$$ : $$.$$hr

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Outside yard and inside building maintenance

DRESS CODE : Steel toed boots are required. All other safety gear, supplies, and equipment will be provided by the Department.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT : May drive a Kioti on grounds but not in roadway.

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Performs miscellaneous landscaping duties
  • Miscellaneous outdoor window cleaning
  • Perform and assist the Supervisor with manual labor on light repairs, light bulbs, flooring, carpentry, outdoor cleaning.
  • Cleans and washes equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

SILLS / ABILITIES :

  • To maintain and repair minor equipment in the Brooksville Yard.
  • To read and understand job-related materials and fill out reports and forms.
  • To communicate both verbally and in writing, including following oral / written instructions.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Be involved when vendors are called for repairs.'
  • Lift, carry, and handle up to 50 pounds.
  • Stoop, climb, squat, push, pull, crawl, or bend on a frequent basis.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, on various terrains and at various heights.
  • Stand for an extended period of time.
