What You Will Do:

As a Laborer, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Assists with loading and unloading materials and equipment, distributing them to the appropriate locations as directed.
• Uses required tools to complete assigned tasks on the job site.
• Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans.
• Assists other trades workers on the job site.
• Directs traffic during roadway construction, as required.
• Builds and takes down scaffolding or temporary structures, as required.
• Assists with maintenance of construction tools or equipment.
• Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use broom and wheelbarrows and follow material procedures.
• Identifies and reports safety hazards. Takes all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Demonstrates safe working practices and complies with all safety requirements.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work is completed outside at the construction site, and can include renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (Hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and able to talk and hear other employee talking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Expected Hours of Work: Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply. Travel: Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

• No minimum experience required.

Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One (1) or more years of experience in commercial construction.
