Job description

Position Summary

A growing leader in the water storage tank and wastewater treatment construction sector is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of municipal water tank and wastewater treatment facility projects. This senior-level role combines hands-on field leadership with strategic project oversight, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of construction for water storage tank and wastewater treatment projects, including estimating, scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
  • Lead and coordinate project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, field crews, and suppliers to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineers, owners, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to resolve design or construction issues while maintaining compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Review and approve project plans, submittals, change orders, and other documentation.
  • Provide on-site leadership, monitor progress, and proactively mitigate risks and delays.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety and environmental standards throughout all project phases.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil or water / wastewater infrastructure construction.
  • Proven track record managing full lifecycle of municipal wastewater treatment plant projects (e.g., clarifiers, aeration basins, MBR / biological processes, mechanical systems, concrete, piping, electrical).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and best practices in the water / wastewater sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil / Environmental Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and field management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets exceeding $10M and deliver municipal projects successfully.
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification preferred.
