POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice-President ofFinance, the Information Technician Coordinator is responsible for ensuringsystem availability and internal customer satisfaction by maintaining networkperformance and security.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installsand configures new hardware and software; maintains inventory of hardware andsoftware for servers and user computers.
- Monitors,tunes and maintains network performance; gathers, analyzes data and preparesreports of findings and recommendations.
- Maintain the organization's inventory bymonitoring and updating current supply of materials by properly tracking allinventory into the HRIS system.
- Reviewsreports and system logs of computer and peripheral equipment and takescorrective action or makes recommendations as necessary.
- Maintainsnetwork and internet security; Identifies, reviews, recommends, implements andperforms ongoing administration of Firewalls, IDs, spam filters; assignsappropriate access entitlements.
- Coordinates,obtains and applies updates to software, hardware and security related patchesto all operating systems in use as required.
- Documentsnetwork configuration.
- Optimizessystem performance by adjusting server settings.
- Utilizessystem monitoring tools to respond to application and hardware failures ordegradation and performs incident management.
- Providesend user support; takes ownership of escalated trouble tickets.
- Interactswith network services staff and others to restore service and/or identify andcorrect core problems; recommends systems modifications to reduce userproblems.
- Simulatesor recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
- Schedules,performs and manages regular backups to facilitate data integrity, data storageand recovery.
- Workswith technology team to develop and maintain standards, procedures,methodologies and user guidelines for effective operation, access, control,backup and recovery of application servers.
- Worksclosely with other departments; stays abreast of developing networktechnologies and provides recommendations regarding the future application ofsuch technologies and the productivity gains to be achieved.
- FollowsInformation Technology policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, securityand legal and regulatory compliance.
- Participatesin the development, maintenance and testing of the Agency's Disaster Recoverysolution to ensure the continuity of business in the event of a disaster.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor's in science in the field of information technology, orcomputer science
- Two (2) to three (3) years'experience preferred
- Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof ofautomobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix Housepolicy

- Knowledge of data privacy and laws (e.g. HIPAA) andability to identify and resolve security, reliability and efficiency problems.
