Job Description :

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our growing team. This role will be critical in managing procurement, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring all construction and project needs are met. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in residential construction.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Bid new plans and assist with the management and maintenance of budgets.
  • Create estimates and track adjustments within Builder Trend.
  • Manage take-offs, plan changes, and ensure accuracy in materials and resources.
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager in managing trade and vendor contracts.
  • Aid in tracking upgrade costs and price changes.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to update and maintain purchase orders (POs) in Builder Trend.
  • Maintain and update community specifications / Series specs.
  • Work closely with the construction team to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Assist with resolving invoice-related questions and discrepancies.
  • Monitor cost and lead time fluctuations, identify issues, and communicate with vendors to develop solutions.
  • Upload and maintain selection options in Builder Trend and Upgrade Excel Sheets.
  • Oversee change orders from the purchasing end.
  • Assist with the job setup process in Builder Trend.
  • Maintain and update the Construction Calendar to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Ensure correct selections are displayed on purchase orders.
  • Source and distribute samples as needed.
  • Provide support with special projects and other ad-hoc tasks.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in residential construction.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Knowledge of BRIX software is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
