Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a CA-licensed Operating Room RN with at least 1 year of experience, BLS certification, and Epic EMR proficiency for a variable schedule position.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
  • Variable shifts primarily days (7 : 00am-3 : 30pm) with some 9 : 00am-5 : 30pm and occasional 7 : 00pm-7 : 00am assignments
  • No regular weekend requirements but on-call may occur during evenings, nights, and weekends
  • On-call is distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks, potentially 6-8 shifts per period
  • Floating required both within the hospital and to affiliated facilities as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system; prior experience required
  • Scrubs for OR are provided
  • Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Return staff policy : Must wait 3 months after perm employment before applying as a traveler
  • All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state as needed
  • A local radius rule of 50 miles from the hospital applies for eligibility
  • RTO (requested time off) must be disclosed at the time of application, and excessive RTO may affect consideration
  • Free parking is available onsite
  • Pre-assignment online modules must be completed; average of 16 hours

  • Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Operating Room RN experience required
  • Recent Epic EMR experience required
  • Must provide at least two supervisory references from within the past three years in a comparable specialty or setting
