Job description

Our residential programs break the cycle of abuse using treatments that restore hope and successfully transition children to more permanent, community or family-based settings. Maryhurst's community and transitional living programs offer tools that prepare survivors of abuse and neglect for better, more hope-filled futures. And lastly, the team at Maryhurst Renewal partners with children, adults and families who are hurting to find the right combination of support, ultimately clearing barriers to success at home, at school, and in the community. Renewal provides one-on-one, group and family counseling in office, home or school-based settings.

The program supervisor :

  • Provides direct supervision of staff members within the program and oversees program services implementation.
  • The supervisor monitors the milieu to assure that a therapeutic environment supportive of each youth's treatment plan is maintained.
  • Other responsibilities include oversight of documentation; facilitating communication between departments, within the program, and with other agencies as needed; assisting with program development.

A person employed in a position responsible for supervising, evaluating, or monitoring the daily work of direct child-care staff shall possess at least of the following :

  • A bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work experience in a child-caring facility;
  • Two (2) years of education from a college or university and two (2) years of work experience in a child-caring facility;
  • A high school diploma, or an equivalence certificate, and at least five (5) years of work experience in a child-caring facility.
  • Supervisory experience also preferred. Ability to self-start, work independently and adhere to timelines on a consistent basis with a minimum of assistance and supervision. Must have the ability to lead and mentor staff. The applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the specific needs of the program and the clients. Participate in the on-call rotation for the Program. Ability to participate and maintain Safe Crisis Management certification and MedRep Status.

    All persons applying for these positions must be willing and able to perform "Safe Crisis Management", a techniq ue used to restrain or transport a resident who has temporarily lost control of their behavior. Maryhurst provides extensive training opportunities for all employees who will have direct contact with the clients.
