Potential Bus Driver

Job Summary

POSITION TITLE : Bus Driver

JOB GOAL : To transport students in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

REPORTS TO : Transportation Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS :

Must have a CDL License with passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsement and an Alabama school bus driver license. Must have a driving record that will be accepted by the bus fleet insurance provider and Elba City Board of Education. Employment will be subject to results of a criminal background check and drug screening test.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Transport students to and from school and on assigned trips safely and efficiently.
• Comply with all state and local laws related to bus transportation.
• Observe all safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline of students and report discipline problems to Transportation Supervisor.
• Follow all procedures for loading and unloading students.
• Operate bus in a safe manner at all times.
• Model and maintain high ethical standards.
• Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
• Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
• Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
• Perform all required tasks in a professional manner.
• Perform all tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
