Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit and provide care for a diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative care for craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients along with medical overflow cases .As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to advanced neurosurgical techniques and care.

Use the nursing process to assess and implement individualized care plans.Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and adapt care plans accordingly.Work collaboratively to coordinate discharge plans and ensure patient safety.Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care processes.Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills with the care team.Licensure and Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license from the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Education Required : Completion of an accredited nursing program.
Experience Required : A minimum of 1 year in clinical nursing.
Skills & Abilities Required :
Provide holistic patient care with a focus on patient and family needs.Recognize and respond timely to changes in patient conditions.Exhibit proficient computer skills and effective communication abilities.Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and healthcare team members.Physical Requirements :
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, walking, and reaching.May be exposed to hazardous materials and will be provided with necessary protective equipment.
