Job Summary :
Palmetto General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Anesthesia Department. The CRNA will be responsible for the administration of anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, exceptional patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations including medical history, physical examination, and assessment of diagnostic data.
- Develop and implement an individualized anesthesia care plan.
- Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthetic levels accordingly during procedures.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring and management of complications.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
- Respond to emergency situations with appropriate interventions, including airway management and resuscitation.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
- Adhere to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards.
Qualifications :
Education : Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.Licensure :Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and CRNA certification in Florida.
National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of clinical anesthesia experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on patient population.Skills and Competencies :
Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.Commitment to patient-centered care and safety.Working Conditions :
Hospital-based setting with rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.Must be able to stand for long periods and assist in emergency situations.Participation in on-call rotation as required.Benefits :
