Every core aspect of society, from our seaports to our airports to emergency services depend on 32 GPS satellites. The US economy will lose over 1 billion dollars a day if GPS is disrupted. In January 2022, the entire Denver airport had its operations jammed for 33.5 hours, impacting the aircraft and control towers, and everything in between, all due to a small jammer someone had in his car that costs less than $20; furthermore, the Russia-Ukraine war has escalated GPS jamming incidents.

This is why we are building the alternative to GPS.

Over the past 4 years, our mission has evolved to interpret the natural characteristics of the earth (including the built environment) to enable precise geolocation without GPS or wifi. xEarth uses visual cues to instantly geolocate a person or target object at an accuracy level of = 6 inches. This solution addresses both non-malicious and malicious causes of GPS failure.

Our visual GPS backup addresses a $2.62 trillion dollar market that underlies our entire economy – from robotics to emergency services. Determining the precise location on earth of a person, object, and robot / drone are key to our global economy, powering manufacturing, autonomous assistance, and delivery robotics and drones, and augmented reality (AR) tools.

Xphera's Founder Backstory

As refugees from Vietnam, my family traveled around the states in search of work, from Washington, Maryland, Georgia, and all the way to St. Louis. Navigating new places, communities, and cultures was difficult. Furthermore, GPS technology completely failed when it was absolutely critical : subways, airports, and downtown corridors. In 2021, I took this hardship as inspiration and turned it into the founding of Xphera, a personalized tool and visual GPS (now xEarth) to help displaced individuals and refugees navigate unfamiliar spaces with confidence. From our work in the navigation space, we discovered the multi-trillion dollar risks of GPS and the pervasive dependency of our entire global infrastructure.

Position Overview

We are searching for a key individual to support our founder and Chief Executive Officer in his daily operations. This individual would preferably have background in sales / marketing and administrative support, with a passion for innovative technology, societal impact, and mission-driven work. As Sales and Operations Assistant to the CEO, you will play a critical role in driving growth by managing sales pipelines, assisting with grant applications, and ensuring seamless communication with partners and leads. This is a dynamic position in a startup environment focused on revolutionizing geolocation and Lunar exploration through xEarth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and nurture sales leads to prevent any from falling through the cracks, including follow-ups, scheduling meetings, and maintaining CRM systems (apollo.io).
  • Assist in preparing and submitting STTR / SBIR grant applications, including research, documentation, and compliance checks.
  • Communicate directly with sales leads, clients, and partners via email, calls, and virtual meetings to build relationships and advance opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support to the CEO, such as calendar management, travel coordination, and preparing reports or presentations.
  • Conduct market research on potential clients in sectors like robotics, emergency services, space exploration, and navigation platforms.
  • Collaborate on marketing initiatives, including content creation for outreach and event coordination.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects related to operations, partnerships (e.g., with airports, museums, or economic development organizations), and company growth.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, marketing, administrative support, or a related field; startup or tech experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions and grant writing.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Apollo, HubSpot, Salesforce), grant application processes (e.g., STTR / SBIR), and basic project management software.
  • Passion for technology innovation, particularly in space exploration, navigation, or geospatial solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, with high attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
