All nurses follow the New Mexico State Practice Act while providing patient care. They anticipate and facilitate during Endoscopic procedures utilizing expertise and proficiency to ensure competent implementation of patient care.

NM State Nursing LicensingBLS CertificationPreferred qualifications :
CGRNACLS Certification within six (6) months of hire / transferDuties and responsibilities :
Works collaboratively with providers and other nursing departments to maintain continuity of patient throughputUtilizes assessment skills to provide patient safety during pre, intra and post procedurePlaces IV access and completes prerequisite medical interventions as ordered by the providerAssists with the setting up and cleaning of equipment adhering to all infection control practicesHandles specimen according to laboratory process (i.e. pathology, histology, cytology, microbiology solutions)Documents accurately and efficiently per policyClearly communicate discharge instructions to patients and caregiverEach employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work : Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and StewardshipOther duties as assignedPhysical demands and environmental work conditions :
Recognize that potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and / or hazardous materials, x-ray, noxious / irritating fumes, long hours, and unforeseen conditions that might generate stress may be encounteredMust be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistanceMust be able to walk, stand, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequentlyMust be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds frequentlyRecognize that physical demands such as extensive walking, standing, lifting, positioning, pushing, and or transferring of patients may be requiredResponsible for on-call duties as assigned by GI Lab Manager
