Job descriptionExamine and evaluate cell samples under a microscope to identify abnormalities, including cancerous and precancerous conditions. Performs cytological examinations of GYN and non-GYN specimens. Prepare and stain cytology specimens such as Pap smears, bodily fluids, and tissue samples. Document findings and prepare detailed reports for review by pathologists and other medical professionals. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care. Stay current with advancements in cytotechnology and contribute to continuous improvement in laboratory practices. Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, Medical Technology, or a related field. Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. Strong knowledge of cytology techniques and diagnostic procedures. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong communication skills and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
