This is a job posting from Gables Search Group for a Manufacturing Engineer position located at a plant in the southwest area of Atlanta, GA. The role involves designing manufacturing processes, implementing productivity improvements, and managing automation projects. The position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and offers benefits, bonuses, and a 401k match. Typical hours are 8-5, with potential for 45-50 hours per week.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software like SolidWorks.
- Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend design or process changes.
- Design and implement production processes for new and existing products.
- Conduct FMEA on products involving design, materials, or processes.
- Review product designs for manufacturability and process optimization.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to optimize productivity.
- Lead design of experiments, lean manufacturing initiatives, and ROI analysis.
- Lead design review meetings for new and existing products.
- Create work instructions, statements of work, and manage inventory of spare and critical parts.
- Implement automation, robotic, vision systems, controls integration, and related tooling.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office.Experience with tooling design.Project management experience.Automation experience including robotics and PLCs.Manufacturing engineering experience in heavy manufacturing.Competencies
