Procurement & Inventory Specialist

Description

We are looking for a skilled Procurement & Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team in Bergen County, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and inventory processes to support the production of high-quality products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure raw materials, packaging, and services at optimal cost and quality.

Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards.

Collaborate with production, quality control, and warehouse teams to align procurement strategies with operational needs.

Manage purchase orders and contracts using the company's procurement system.

Maintain accurate inventory levels to support production schedules, minimizing shortages and overstock.

Conduct routine inventory audits and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity.

Develop and utilize forecasting models to inform purchasing and stocking decisions.

Analyze market trends and supply chain risks to optimize procurement processes.

Address supplier-related issues promptly and professionally to maintain smooth operations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and inventory management practices.

Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within manufacturing or the chemical / paint industry.

Proficiency in procurement systems such as Oracle or similar platforms.

Strong background in inventory management, including audits, cycle counts, and forecasting.

Excellent negotiation and communication skills to foster effective vendor relationships.

Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and cost control strategies.

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
