As our Financial Controller , you won’t just “keep the books.” You’ll run Finance like it’s your own department. You’ll be the strategic partner who makes sure our hypergrowth doesn’t outpace our cash, who turns numbers into levers, and who builds the systems that keep us one step ahead.

Role

The Financial Controller is a strategic finance leader who owns the accuracy, integrity, and velocity of our financial systems. This isn’t just accounting — it’s leadership. You’ll set the foundation for scale, run point on cash conversion, and ensure every dollar in and out of the business is moving us closer to our growth targets.

Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll actually do :

Cash Conversion : Own AR aging, DSO, collections cadence, and produce a weekly 13-week cash forecast.

Close Hygiene : Deliver a clean day-5 close with accurate P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, WIP reporting, and job-cost integrity.

Payment Terms : Enforce AP discipline, secure lien waivers, capture early-pay savings, and eliminate late fees.

Billing Mechanics : Design faster-cash tactics and smart payment plans.

Strategic Influence : Surface job margin variance weekly, partner with ops on profitability, and inform pricing / discounting discipline.

Leadership : Be a one-person department until you’ve mastered every lever — then recruit and lead an Accountant to scale with you.

Cash collected faster, AR aging reduced, and a clear 13-week forecast that leadership can trust.

Zero late vendor payments, zero missed lien waivers, and maximized early-pay savings.

Job costs reported with integrity and margin leaks identified before they hit the bottom line.

Clear visibility into profitability drivers — pricing, discounts, upgrades, material & subcontractor costs.

A finance function that doesn’t just report the past but actively protects the future.

Requirements

5+ years accounting with 2+ years owning full month‑end close

Proven experience running Finance in a home services or construction company.

Track record of managing AR, AP, job costing, and cash flow in a high-volume environment.

Strong strategic orientation — not just an “accountant,” but someone who can influence profitability.

Experience with sales rep commission structures preferred.

High-performance mindset : you thrive in competitive environments where results matter more than excuses.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

CPA a plus

$110,000–$130,000 OTE (base + performance incentives tied to accuracy, speed, and cash results).

This is a full-time, in-office role at our Utah headquarters.
