Job Summary : Legal Assistant
The Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the firms legal and administrative operations. This position emphasizes phone communication, client interaction, and document preparation, while supporting attorneys, paralegals, and the office shareholder.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Answering phones, directing calls, and providing exceptional client service.
- Acting as backup for front desk duties, such as greeting visitors and coordinating in-office meetings.
- Assisting with document preparation, eFiling, redaction, and basic drafting.
- Opening and closing matters in coordination and maintaining case files.
- Managing daily rounds to collect, scan, and organize handwritten attorney notes.
- Supporting the office shareholder with special projects.
- Ordering office supplies, coordinating office snacks and drinks, and keeping inventory.
- Handling bank deposits, processing payments, and taking mail to the post office.
- Acting as courier to courthouses and other locations as needed.
- Drafting contracts and ensuring accuracy with STxD procedures.
- Maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion and good judgment.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.Ability to function autonomously, self-motivate, and adapt to new processes and procedures.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.Eagerness to learn and take initiative in supporting office and legal functions.Education and Experience :
Bachelors Degree preferred.High School Diploma or GED required.Three or more years of administrative experience or one year of legal secretary experience.One consecutive year of Family Law experience preferred.Physical Requirements :
