Job Summary The Assistant Professor in Graphic Design and Foundations Design will effectively teach all levels of Graphic Design courses, as well as select foundations design or other courses and duties as assigned by the chair in accordance with the needs of the department and qualifications of the applicant. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to introduce students to and develop their skills in the use of industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps, and knowledge of Macintosh platforms. The successful candidate should be able to engage students with current and emerging technologies, UI/UX prototyping platforms, and AI-assisted creative tools relevant to the contemporary design industry. The successful candidate will also teach and mentor students in professionalism in the field, including senior thesis, portfolio development, promotion of work, and effective communication. Crucially, the candidate will collaborate with faculty on curricula, recruiting, student retention, department events, and other department business, including Foundation Success, and other responsibilities as assigned by the department chair.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - MFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field, or Studio Art with significant Graphic Design experience.
- Ability to teach all levels of Graphic Design courses as well as select foundations design courses.
- Ability to use and teach industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps, and knowledge of Macintosh platforms.
Preferred Qualifications: - Record of professional and creative accomplishment.
- Two years of teaching experience in courses listed or related courses
- Ability to teach emerging technologies, UI/UX prototyping platforms, and AI-assisted creative tools relevant to the contemporary design industry.
Supplemental Information Key Competencies: - Ability to effectively teach all levels of Graphic Design courses as well as select foundations or other courses as assigned by the chair and in accordance with the needs of the department.
- Ability to introduce students to and develop their skills in the use of industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps, and knowledge of Macintosh platforms.

Physical Requirements: - Able to lift 40 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
