As an outsourced CFO, you'll serve as a strategic advisor to our nonprofit industry clients, delivering high-quality financial insights and overseeing client engagements that drive mission success.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities :
- Provides advisory services to clients, through scheduled remote meetings
- Consult clients on interpretation and use of financial statements
- Primary contact and strategic advisor to nonprofit client executive teams and boards
- Research and share knowledge of best practices in processes and procedures, internal controls, and areas of business concern or interest to each client
- Oversee Wipfli teams, ensuring expectations are met across multiple client engagements
- Ensure financial reporting meets quality standards for clients and board of directors
- Oversee audit and 990 reporting, working with auditors to complete requests, including functional expense schedule, net asset schedule, and schedule of federal awards, if applicable
- Provide technical accounting assistance in accordance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance to clients and internal teams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance requiredCPA and / or MBA preferredPrior or present experience as a CFO for a nonprofit entityExperience with Community Action Agency or Head Start programs preferredFederal grant reporting and processing experience requiredPrevious experience working in public accounting10+ years of advanced, hands-on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation within the nonprofit industryMinimum of 5 years supervisory and leadership experienceProven project management experience requiredProven ability to build, manage and foster relationships while working effectively within a teamAbility to travel to client sites, conferences, location specific team trainings, approximately 5%-10% annually
