PCU Nursing Job Details

Location : Hopewell, Virginia 23860

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : January 5, 2026 – End : April 6, 2026)

Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 4 beds

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), rotating weekends

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800

Employment Type : Travel RN

Dress Code : Black scrubs

Documentation System : Meditech

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Progressive Care, or acute care nursing experience

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Strong communication and bedside reporting skills

Ability to float to MedSurg and Telemetry units as needed

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to PCU patients with a 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team including unit secretaries and techs

Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress

Update patient whiteboards and foster personal connections with each patient

Participate in bedside reporting and ensure accurate documentation in Meditech

Maintain a positive, team-oriented culture and contribute to a supportive work environment
