About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 1.5 years in Medical / Surgical nursing preferred

License : Required

Certifications : BLS required, CPI preferred

Must-Have :

• Previous Charge Experience : 2 years
• Patient Ratio Experience : 4-7
• Charting System Experience : Preferred
• Experience with Community Hospital : Preferred

Description :

The unit services internal medicine patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses.

Room amenities include video monitoring capability, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms.

A charge nurse and supervisor are present on every shift.

Staff are required to float to Medical / Surgical and Medical / Surgical / Telemetry units.

however, staff may occasionally have higher ratios.

Preferred candidates will have 2 years, but 1.5 years of experience may be considered for quality candidates.

Staff are required to work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract.

RTO will not be granted for holidays but efforts will be made to accommodate preferences for which holidays to work to meet the requirement.

First-time travelers are welcome.

Unit Details :

The unit has a maximum capacity of 57 patients.

Daily census averages about 53 patients.

Staff have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.

The patient population includes adults with various medical conditions such as diabetes complications, COPD exacerbation, alcohol / drug withdrawal, renal failure, and cellulitis.

Special procedures may include video monitoring and the use of ceiling lifts.

Special equipment available includes Alaris Pumps and Kangaroo Pumps.

Floating among units is required, with staff expected to fulfill additional duties as patient observers when necessary.

The unit's focus is on quality patient care and providing comprehensive support to diverse patient needs.
