Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Float Pool ICU / CCU position with 12-hour night shifts and a UT or compact RN license required.

Responsibilities

Float among ICU and CCU units within a hospital system

Floating may be required to any assignment location within a 60-mile radius

Work requires flexibility to take assignments outside the original job requirements as needed

12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week

EPIC charting system is used and experience is preferred

Manage ICU and CCU level patients and float as needed between units per policy

Duties include assessment, implementing care plans, medication administration, and patient / family education

Responsible for delegating to non-RN personnel as appropriate

Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities

Maintain professional records and pursue continuing education to ensure competency

Must sign a float agreement acknowledging travel between specified locations within the zone

Requirements

Active UT or compact RN license required at time of consideration

Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Minimum of one year relevant RN experience preferred

Certifications : American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required

Must have active certifications; no pending licenses or certifications accepted

Flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31), with case-by-case medical exemptions only (no religious exemptions)

Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
