Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital is hiring an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our Emergency & Critical Care Team in Round Rock, TX!

  • One year minimum of animal related experience required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist doctors and Technicians with the restraint of animals for examinations, procedures, treatments, radiographs, etc.
  • Prepare the surgical suite, clean after, and set up for the following procedure.
  • Prepare wet sink for lacerations and minor procedures, and clean after procedures.
  • Clean, wrap, and sterilize instruments, surgical packs, gowns, and drapes.
  • Knowledge of names and locations of all instruments and equipment used in surgery.
  • Bathe, nail trims, feed & walk patients.
  • Prepare prescriptions as ordered by the Doctor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in work areas.
  • Perform Kennel duties as required, including sweeping, mopping, and laundry.
  • Perform inventory and restocking duties as required.
  • Always be in position and prepared to work at the start of each shift. Consistent, on-time arrival and attendance at work each day you are scheduled.

  • SCHEDULE :

  • Swing shift (2 : 00 pm - 2 : 00 am) Sunday-Tuesday
  • Weekends and holidays are required.
  • No on-call.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic customer service skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
