Scheduler
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the clinic Scheduler is to facilitate the seamless coordination of patient appointments, ensuring an efficient scheduling process. The successful candidate will be adept at utilizing scheduling software, possess strong communication skills, and exhibit a commitment to delivering a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities include :
Appointment Scheduling : Efficiently organize patient appointments, considering healthcare providers' availability and appointment priorities.
Communication : Interact with patients, healthcare providers, and staff to schedule and confirm appointments. Clearly convey appointment details and instructions to patients.
Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of scheduled appointments using electronic scheduling systems. Update patient information as necessary.
Patient Coordination : Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize the schedule. Address patient inquiries related to appointments, rescheduling, and cancellations.
Follow-Up : Implement a system for timely follow-up calls or reminders to confirm appointments and provide pre-appointment instructions. Assist in rescheduling appointments as needed.
Conflict Resolution : Address scheduling conflicts promptly and work proactively to find alternative solutions. Communicate changes in schedules to relevant parties.
Team Collaboration : Collaborate with administrative staff and healthcare professionals to enhance overall clinic efficiency. Assist in additional administrative tasks as required.
Compensation starts at $16.85 per hour , commensurate with education and experience. This position is eligible for shift differentials on top of base pay and benefits after 60 days of employment.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Experience
Proven experience in appointment scheduling or related administrative roles.
Required Registration / License / Certification
Certification in healthcare administration is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in scheduling software and electronic health record systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-focused with a commitment to providing a positive patient experience.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Vision and hearing within normal ranges.
Working Conditions
Primarily office or clinic setting.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on patient needs or special events.
